Futuristic Partition Wall, SXSW 2014
This partition wall was designed for an exhibition of futuristic technologies, taking place at SXSW in 2014. The client wanted to separate different areas of the exhibition with partition walls that were as interesting and futuristic looking as the featured technologies, such as 3D printers, virtual reality devices, etc. The conceptual approach was extremely imaginative since the exhibition theme was based on a Sifi movie. The criteria was to digitally design and fabricate the object.
The partitions are designed to be shipped for temporary events. They can be assembled within a few hours and disassembled fast after the event. We modeled our geometric surfaces around a collapsible structure. The structure fits in a carry-on bag and ships in a box.The plastic translusent surfaces are also flat laser cut pieces that fit into a box. They are scored by laser cutter and folded by hand.
