PAE Wall Installation- San Francisco

 

We were commissioned to create an installation for the lobby area of PAE, a lighting design company in San Francisco. The installation is made of 2 layers, the veneer wood and the shifting color background that is visible through the openings on the wood pyramids. The main concept was to create a dynamic field, animated by tracing forces of people moving in every direction.  The 3d pattern is generated in Grasshopper. All the pyramids are laser cut flat and folded by hand. Each one is unique.
